Casio Electronic Keyboard
The Casio Electronic Keyboard has continued to lead the rest of the pack with a seemingly endless stream of digital piano keyboard features and innovations. Yes… there are some better Keyboards made for World Class Performers, but for the price, and what they offer… the CASIO line is still unbeatable! Below we have highlighted some of the best that CASIO has to offer, and a brief history of this Award winning company.
History of CASIO
The Casio Company really got it’s start in 1946 but did not become the award winning electronics leader we all know today until much later.
Since 1980 and after three decades of successfully delivering musical products made with cutting-edge technology and musical artistry that create authentic piano sound quality, Casio continues to bring music into the lives of enthusiasts of all ages with a variety of keyboard and digital piano brands. In 1980, Casio released the Casiotone (CT-201) electronic keyboard, designed to provide consumers with a simple and fun way to learn and play music without any special training or rigorous practice.
In 1986, Casio introduced the CZ-1, the company’s most advanced synthesizer. The CZ featured a 61-note velocity, 8 track sequencer and backlit display.
Also the FZ-1, became the world’s first 16 bit sampler featured up to 2MB of sample memory and sampling rates of 36kHz. The revolutionary 8-voice polyphonic sampler has been used by musical groups 2 Live Crew, Dee Lite and Kitaro.
In 2003, Casio’s Privia PX-100 revolutionized the digital piano category by creating a slim and stylish portable and remarkably affordable instrument with an 88-key weighted action. Since its inception, the Privia line has evolved and continues to provide users with an authentic piano sound and feel with an elegant design.
“For the last 30 years, Casio has created musical instruments to educate and entertain consumers,” says Mike Martin, director of marketing, Electronic Musical Instruments Division. “We are thrilled to have touched the lives of so many enthusiasts throughout their musical careers and strive to uphold the quality that has become synonymous with Casio musical products.”
Casio has received a number of awards and accolades for the design and sound quality of its products. Some noteworthy awards include the Casio PX-100 – winner of the 2003/2004 German Music Retailer Association’s “Product of the Year” award. The PX-320 won a Consumer’s Digest “Best Buy” award and its successor, the Casio PX-330 recently won Keyboard’s “Key Buy Award.” Casio has established a reputation for creating groundbreaking products, mending musical artistry with superior functionality. Thirty years later, Casio remains a key player in the musical products industry.
